God is Good All the Time!

As of today, I can officially say that I will be teaching Pre-K next fall at Peachtree Presbyterian Church--the same school I'm at right now! I've known about my new position for a while, but I just signed my contract today. I am so excited about this new opportunity.

Pre-K is five days a week, instead of three days like the 3 year old class I have been working in. However, it is still 8:30- 12:30. I have a feeling Mr. Chapman is going to be wild man by the fall {on the go all the time}, so I think working in the mornings is going to be the perfect amount of work vs. being at home time--ha! I'm going to get to do what I love and have time out of the house, and Chapman will still be going to the nursery and have play time with babies his age. Then we will have the afternoons to spend quality mommy/son time together!

I told y'all I'd have to report back on the Reggio Approach. Well, I've enjoyed it in the little time I've been at Peachtree Pres, but I still have a lot to learn about it. I am looking forward to reading a lot of literature about Reggio this summer, and even more as I experience it in the classroom next fall.

This is yet another prayer that has been answered; I continue to be amazed at God's perfect timing in our lives. I owe all the glory to Him! Now, I only have 3 more short school days until it is summer break!! I can't wait to spend my days with Chapman going to the pool, baby gym, the park, story time at the library, etc. We have a few beach trips planned, too! Bring on summer!

Chapman is Eight Months OId!

Where have the last eight months gone? I can't believe you are eight months old already. I continue to be in awe of you each day. It seems like you change daily, and it is such a privilege to watch you learn and grow. You didn't have a well doctor visit this month, but I had to take you for a sick visit this week so I got to see how much you weigh. You're a big boy--19 pounds 9 ounces {50th percentile}. They didn't measure your length, but I tried to measure you at home. According to my measurement you are 28 inches long. I think that's what I got last month too...I'm pretty sure you've grown in length in the past month, so I obviously measured wrong somewhere! These are a few of my favorite pictures from your eight month "photo shoot":
You moved your bedtime again...you now go to sleep between 7:00 and 7:30, but you still wake up around 6:30. If we are lucky, you let us sleep until 7:15 some mornings--not very often, though {and usually on morning when we have to be up early anyway}. You still nap at 9:00am and 2:00pm for an hour and 10 minutes {And I do mean an hour and 10 minutes exactly--every time.} You've started sleeping on your tummy some. I've heard horror stories about when babies start rolling over and sleeping on their tummies--like that they HATE it and cry and stop sleeping well for a while until they can get used to it. But not you; you love sleeping on your stomach! Whew, I'm glad.
This is right when you started rolling over...

Crazy sleeper!

Last time I checked in I decided to try my hand at making your baby food. Well, I did. And that only lasted a week {not even}. It took me a good long while to prepare everything and separate it into little individual containers; then you didn't even like it really. I offered it to you for several days in hopes that you would change your mind--but you would have none of that. We also calculated the cost difference between homemade and Gerber, and we saved a grand total of $4.00. That's beans in the grand scheme of things; so we will keep feeding what you like--good ol' Gerber baby food! You don't have any teeth yet, but I let you try a few new table foods {you just "gum" the tiny pieces of food}. You had real bananas sliced in to tiny pieces, and you love them. I made spiral pasta and thought you would LOVE it, well, because you're my child and I LOVE pasta. However, you were not sure what to think of it the first time you tried it. You made the funniest faces the entire time you were trying to eat it. I kept trying for a couple of days and you finally decided you do like pasta--that's my boy! We love carbs in this family, so you don't really have a choice anyway ;)
Oh yeah, you also tried mashed potatoes!

You seemed to like my homemade baby food here...

Ew, Mommy. What is this pasta stuff?

Now I think I like it!

You get so excited at meal time. I do too, baby boy!

You're still in 9 month pajamas, but I've noticed that some of them are getting kind of small on you. You are in all size 12 month clothes, and you're still in size 3 diapers!

You still love to sit in the floor and play with your toys. You entertain yourself so well--Mr. Independent. I love watching you explore. One of your favorite toys to play with is your piano. You intently play it all the time...I'm signing you up for piano lessons as soon as you're old enough! You have added two new "words" to your vocabulary-- da-da and ba-ba. Now you have 3 words total! Daddy is so glad you can say da-da now! You aren't crawling yet, but boy, are you ever close. You started out doing little baby planks and now you can get on your hands and knees. You rock back and forth. Sometimes you move your legs, but you can't figure out how to move your arms yet. We practice trying to crawl every day; I'm not sure why though! I know when you start crawling I'll wish you would sits till for five seconds ;)

We still go to baby gym, and you love the ball pit and swinging!

It's the season of festivals here in Atlanta. we have gone to several and you love them. You just sit in your stroller and people watch while Mommy and Daddy push you around!

You wore your Daddy's bubble suit to church...so special.

You watched your first Masters. Daddy got you a Masters jon-jon when he went this year.

You're a pro at sitting in high chairs and playing with coloring sheets at restaurants these days.

We celebrated your first Easter this year...that's a whole other post, but here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day.

Mommy's favorite part...
 Oh, you love your daddy!

You keep us entertained at all times!

This picture makes me laugh; you look so scared for some reason!

Frannie Froo loves you!

I almost forgot...we went to Birmingham for Mommy's spring break! You helped Mommy drive...jk.
We had a play date with Mrs. Whitney and Harrison and their friends.

We got to meet baby Grayson!

You and Mae Marie had a hot date in Brooke's kitchen floor...by the trash can!

And you got to see your Nanny a lot!

Sweet boy, I don't know what we did to deserve you, but God blessed us more than we knew possible when he gave us you. We love you to the moon and back!
