Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with meeeeee....

That's the song that came to my mind when I started typing this post! Most people don't still get a spring break at the age of 27. Unless you're in the profession of teaching...or unless you're in the profession of being a student--which my husband seems to be! {Thankfully he is resigning from school in May and moving on to a new and more exciting career, though!} Anyhow, this is his last year to get a spring break AND he just finished studying for and taking the BAR {hallelujah!}, so we decided to take a fun trip, just the two of us. We found a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas and babysitters for Chapman...cha-ching. My mom drove over from Birmingham to keep Chapman the majority of the weekend {she was in Heaven!}, and Kelsey and Mrs. Corky kept him after my mom left {they were in Heaven, too!}. We can't thank all of them enough for taking such wonderful care of our baby while we were gone.

Our cruise left out of Port Canaveral,  which is about 7 hours away from Atlanta. So we decided to drive halfway on Thursday afternoon. We stopped in Savannah and spent the night with Britt's Aunt Judy and Uncle Rick. Aunt Judy was kind enough to host us, Britt's cousins, and some of our college friends for dinner that night. Dinner was delicious, and we loved catching up with everyone.

Friday morning we woke up early and hit the road to Port Canaveral. We arrived there early in the afternoon and boarded the ship pretty quickly. First things, first, we grabbed a drink! Then we explored the ship while we waited on the emergency drill. Aside from knowing where your muster station is, the emergency drill is pretty pointless to me...oh well! We set sail around 4:30 and spent the night at sea.
Our little room...we were just happy to have a window!
Setting sail!
A 70s show on Friday night.

Saturday we got to Nassau around lunch time. We spent the day walking around the island instead of going to the beach. Britt had done a little research before we left and found a fish fry that was supposed to be "the thing to do". We ventured around until we found it. There was a row of about 5 or 6 restaurants that all had the famous fish fry. We stopped at Candie's. The food was great, but the pina coladas were better. They made pina coladas from real coconuts; I've never tasted a better one! After lunch we walked around the town until it was time to board the ship again.
Panoramic view of Nassau
So beautiful.
No matter where in the world you are, there is always a McDonald's!
The Fish Fry
Call me immature...this sign made me laugh so hard. Don't get caught unpeeled now, ya hear?
Nassua was a cute little town.
A pretty old church.
We got wi-fi and I got to FaceTime this sweet boy!
Saturday night we went to the Love and Marriage game show.
Our little towel friend!

Sunday morning we woke up in Coco Cay. Coco Cay is Royal Caribbean's private island. We spent the day lounging on the beach and enjoying the beautiful view. Sunday night we sailed back to Port Canaveral.
Our ship tendered in the water and we rode a small boat to Coco Cay.
Gorgeous weather and water!
No glass was allowed on the beach, so they gave us these fun plastic bottles.
Lounging...
Shameless selfie
That was our little tiki bar for the day.
Pina coladas were a drink of choice on this trip.

Monday morning we exited the ship as early as we could and made the LONG drive back to Atlanta. We had such a wonderful time, but we sure missed our baby boy!
