The Only Thing Constant in Life is Change...

I have always dreamed of having a house at the beach. And, well, it seems that dreams can
 come true!

As you all know, Britt graduated from Emory and passed the BAR back in May. He has been working for his dad while searching for a job. We are firm believers that God is in control and has known our plan since before He created us. We have been praying that the perfect job opportunity would present itself to us. Last Thursday, it did. We are thrilled to announce that Britt has been offered a job, and we are moving to Saint Simons Island in TWO short weeks!

Britt is joining a small firm, Whelchel and McQuigg. He will be doing exactly what he loves-- transactional type work. {For all of you non-lawyers--myself included, that means real estate, probate, trusts and estates, etc.} I am going to get some extra time at home with Chapman, too!
Britt's new firm is in the top floor of this building.

We are very excited about this new adventure. We are leaving the hustle and bustle of big city life to go live on island time. It is a change we are both embracing with open arms. Y'all know I love the beach, so it didn't take much convincing me to move to SSI. There's a lot to be said for small town living, I think.  Saint Simons is such a quaint little place. The downtown area {aka the village} has so many cute little shops. There are several precious children's clothing stores, too {uh-oh!!}. AND there's a Bailey Boys outlet. I've heard the prices aren't that great, but I'll just have to see for myself! The restaurant scene isn't half bad either. Last night we checked out Gnat's and the food and atmosphere were great.

A glimpse of the village.
We had a celebratory beer at Brogen's before dinner.
Gnat's may be one of our go-to places!

We found a perfect house to rent in Hampton Plantation. It's a 3 bedroom, so we will always be up for out-of-town guests!  Just let us know when you want to come visit and go to the beach!

The only drawback to this move is that we are moving away from our families. It has been nice having Britt's family in Atlanta and only being 2 1/2 hours away from my family in Birmingham. We will be 4 1/2 hours from Atlanta and 6 hours from Birmingham, but neither of those drives are unreasonable. I'm sure our families won't mind coming to visit us at the beach, either!

So that's our exciting news...it has all happened in a whirlwind, but we're positive it has  happened in God's timing.
